Twitter Apologized

On Tuesday, Twitter apologized for “mistakenly” blocking the iStandWithPhil.com website.  “The URL IStandWithPhil.com was mistakenly flagged as spam tonight, by an outside organization that tracks spam sources. We have restored access and apologize for the error,” Twitter told Marketing Land on Tuesday.

“Twitter generally does not act to block content until receiving a report from another user or group of users, that complaint is then reviewed by Twitter, who decides whether to take action or not. Normally, the blocked account holder receives an email notifying them of the action being taken.”

I believe Twitter about this, this is a favorite tactic of the Progressives on Facebook as well.  They search for post and pages that run counter to their agenda and report them as either spam or offensive.  Leaving it to the owner of the page or author of the post to straighten it out with Facebook.  The ones who flag the page, comment, or link gets to stay anonymous and suffer no consequences for their sabotage.

Facebook and Twitter both should keep track of people who flag things as spam or offensive, and if they are found to have been complaining to further an agenda their accounts should be closed.  I know that they will just go an open another account, but if they bar the IP address from opening an account it would make them have some consequences for their guerilla warfare sabotage tactics.
